Rules

Montana Creek Campground is family-oriented and pet-friendly. Our rules are designed to protect people, pets and our environment. If you have any questions about our expectations, please contact us at the number listed below. We appreciate your consideration of others and hope you will enjoy your stay. HAVE FUN and enjoy our campground!

  • Pets must be on a leash or chain at all times.

  • Do not leave fires unattended.

  • Fireworks and discharge of firearms are prohibited; you will be asked to leave the property.

  • ATVs are prohibited from trails. ATVs are allowed on camp roads and a 5-mph speed limit is enforced. (Violators will not be permitted to ride ATVs.) Helmets are required.

  • No cutting or stripping of live trees.

  • Do not drive on grass; you will ruin it and may get stuck.

  • Dispose of fish waste by tossing in swift part of creek; failure to do this could attract bears.

  • Protect our wildlife; dispose of fishing line in trash cans.

  • We are not responsible for personal property; safeguard your valuables.

  • RV generators must be turned off at 11 p.m.

  • Disposal of dangerous or hazardous materials is prohibited. We promote and encourage recycling of plastic and cans. Please place in the appropriate bins.

  • Medical assistance is available at Sunshine Clinic - Mile 4.5 Talkeetna Spur Road. Phone 907-733-2273 (or 911 emergency only).

  • Campground office can be contacted at 907-733-8255) during camp season. Pre-paid campsite reservations are non-refundable unless canceled more than 48 hours in advance.

Safety

  • Bears Black bears have been spotted on the trails around camp. Bears are more active at dawn. Always walk with a buddy and carry bear spray. Stay on marked trails and follow the park rules. Keep an eye out for fresh tracks and scat. Don’t store food in your tent.  

  • Fire Obey any restrictions on fires for fires may be limited or prohibited at certain times. Fires may only be built in fire rings, stoves, grills, or fireplaces provided for that purpose. Be sure your fire is completely extinguished before leaving. Do not leave your fire unattended. You are responsible for keeping fires under control and for protecting our beautiful campground and its guests.

  • Firearms Firearms are allowed on the campground. However, discharging of firearms, BB guns, paintball guns, bow and arrows, sling shots or any devices that use burning powder, explosives, compressed gases, etc. within the campground is prohibited.

  • Fireworks Fireworks are prohibited on this property and within the Matanuska Susitna Borough by law.
